(Just added my email address to the bottom)

I dont know where to go for this…….I am 46 years old and in about 1970 my folks took us to the Seattle Washington area camping. At a campground on a lake/pond near Seattle we witnessed the tragedy of a young man that drown . I remember a group of young people swiming in that lake that were probably teenagers so my guess is the victim today would have been in his mid/late 50s. I would like to revisit this campground for some personal closure. My guess is this campground was a public campground as that was a favorite of my mothers. Any idea where else to post this msg to see if anyone can help with information.

Thank you very much for the Lake Sawyer possibility. I know we visited Mt Rainer on this trip so the direction of SE of Seattle is very possible. I will check it out.

Also thanks to RV.net Blog Admin for forwarding my quest!

    Thanks
    Dirk

  164. Dirk,

I don’t know if I can be of any help, but the first place that comes to mind is a place called Lake Sawyer in the town of Black Diamond, WA about 25 miles southeast of downtown Seattle. To my knowledge there isn’t now nor has ever been any campgrounds in Seattle itself. I’m in a campground with a small man-made lake, but given the time frame that you are speaking of that rules out this campground. We just celebrated our 20th anniversary late last year. The current owner of the campground that I’m referring to (Lake Sawyer) is Sunrise Resorts and they might know more. http://www.sunriseresorts.com will get you to them. Good Luck!

I joined FACEBOOK recently only because I have grandchildren, and a close son-in-law who use it. I only communicate with them, not publically. I have been on RV.NET for many years. MY ? for you is: Why do I want to use facebook for my RV.NET, when your own web-site and blog, (which this was sent in my home e-mail) is so good?

Another ? All thos colored ICONS on the bottom–what do each of them mean? I can see facebook, google, but please explain the others. What is: stumbleUpon ? Technorati? delicaious ? Reddit ? Digg ? & Slashdot.

I think there are many who also would like this information. Thanks a lot.

  166. Dirk, I have reposted your comment under a Campgrounds/State Parks article (located here), as I think you’ll have better results there. I also suggest you post your question in the RV.net Campgrounds, Resorts and Attractions forum as many of the users there know a tremendous amount about various campgrounds and RV resorts throughout the United States. I really do wish you the best of luck in finding this campground, and the closure you desire.

This is great. I was just about to leave the Fb world for a more specific rv site. Now, I can “have my cake and eat it too.”
