February 22, 2012

NHTSA Campaign ID Number: 12V028000

Component:  Wheels, Rim

Potential number of units affected: 1,701

Summary: DRV Suites (DRV), formerly Doubletree RV, is recalling certain model year 2008 and 2010-2011 Select, Mobile, and Elite Suite Recreational Vehicles manufactured from June 12,2007, through October 27,2010 and equipped with disc brakes. Due to the paint applied to the aluminum wheel and hub face, the wheel may become loose.

Consequence: This situation can result in the wheel/rim moving, shearing of the wheel studs and the wheel coming off of vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: DRV will notify owners, and dealers will remove the paint from the hub face and the back of the wheels free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin during February or early March 2012. Owners may contact DRV at 1-574-457-6472.

Notes: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to http://www.Safercar.Gov.

CONFUSED!!! We are so unsure to make a deal or not on buying a Class C and trading in our 24′ Dutchmen Travel Trailer on it. The class C Fleetwood 31N is spacious and a cool way to get around but the cons weigh out the pros by just a few things. Any opinions out there on what makes the most sense? Considered Gas costs, Resale Value, size limitations, etc. etc

Appreciate any opinions or comments. Deal has to be done this Sat.
