A Doggone Good Cause

Thirty-three years ago, the Good Sam Club lent its support to a fledgling nonprofit known as Dogs for the Deaf. Today, Dogs for the Deaf is recognized as North America’s oldest and largest Hearing Dog institution, providing trained dogs to people with a variety of challenges, from hearing loss to autism. Over the years, the Good Sam Club has played a big part in the success of Dogs for the Deaf, now celebrating its 35th year.

Dogs for the Deaf News: Teacher Receives 4-Legged Assistant

Dogs for the Deaf placed its first Program Assistance Dog with Janet Voorhies, a special education teacher in the Grizzly Peak Program at Ashland Middle School in Ashland, Oregon.  Janet currently teaches nine children with special needs, but class size and the needs of the children can change from year to year. Nelson, a two-year-old
