The resort is located on Galveston Island, a barrier island on the Texas Gulf Coast, about 50 miles southeast of Houston. While the sandy beaches draw many visitors to the island every year, there is so much fun to be had at the Jamaica Beach RV Resort, you may never leave!

Resort

Visitors have been flocking to this family-owned RV resort for over 10 years and rave about the entire facility. Ron and Dora moved from Montana to Texas in 2006 with a dream of creating a year-round RV Park with all the frills of a 5-star resort and they definitely achieved that goal!

The first resort on the island to earn a 10/10*/10 Good Sam rating, Jamaica Beach RV Resort offers 181 pull thru sites (all 31 feet by 65 feet) with full hook-ups including water, sewer, 30/50-amp power and cable. Every site is paved and features a grassy lawn and picnic table. The campground has 3 bathhouses, laundry facilities, an exercise room, propane refill on site, a small store and free Wi-Fi.

You will definitely enjoy the island vibe here. The resort is beautifully landscaped with lush green grass and palm trees throughout. You can also enjoy spectacular sunsets with an unobstructed view of the Gulf of Mexico and the Bay. They’ve also recently added a paved biking/golf cart trail that gives you bayside access!

This truly is a destination for the whole family, including your fur babies. Jamaica Beach is pet-friendly and has a large dog park.

Amenities

Jamaica Beach has everything you’d expect from a family campground and more! Nothing says a beach vacation more than swimming pools, and they have two, but that’s not all. The resort has recently added a splash pad and 700-foot lazy river!

After a dip in the pool, enjoy a round of putt-putt golf at the resort’s pirate-themed 18-hole miniature golf course. The resort also has volleyball courts, a large outdoor chess set, a playground, nature trails and so much more.

Local Area

If you can manage to drag yourself away from this terrific RV resort, the island boasts 32 miles of beaches and a variety of other recreational activities from museums and historic architecture to amusement rides and an aquarium.

You can visit the beach right across from the campground or head down to the Seawall Urban Park. The 10-mile long seawall was built after the Galveston Hurricane of 1900 for protection from future hurricanes. Adjacent to it is Seawall Boulevard, a fun stretch of road lined with restaurants, hotels, and souvenir shops.

Be sure to stop by the historic Pleasure Pier for a fun-filled time on the 16 old fashioned amusement rides. Attractions include carnival games, a leisurely carousel spin, and bumper cars. If you’re a thrill seeker, go for the 200-foot swing that flies visitors over the ocean. Nighttime is a great time to visit Pleasure Pier because the rides are covered in lights and live music is typically found on the pier.
