Elephant Butte is loaded with things to see and do, and our climate is enjoyable year round. If you enjoy four-wheeling, head out on the trails from Cedar Cove RV Park or on trails in the mountains nearby. Sierra County has plenty of open countryside and trails designated for four-wheeling. A popular trip with our guests is to the Monticello Box, in northwest Sierra County. Stop by the office for a map, or let us set up a guided tour for you.

Bird watchers will love Bosque del Apache, the crown jewel of the National Wildlife Refuge system, located about 60 miles north of our location. A variety of birds, especially Sandhill Cranes and snow geese, spend time at the Bosque during migration season and Elephant Butte lies right along the migration path, making Cedar Cove RV Park and the surrounding area a prime birding location. You’ll see all kinds of birds on the Cedar Cove grounds no matter what time of year you stay with us. There are plenty of interesting day trips from the park. Sierra County’s historic towns are one popular choice. They’re all just a scenic drive away. Some have museums, shops and restaurants while others are true ghost towns. Many came up during the 17th-century mining boom. White Sands National Monument is a trip you won’t want to miss and is only about 2 hours from Cedar Cove RV Park by car. Stop by the office for driving directions. This beautiful National park features gypsum sand as far as the eye can see.

Just 3 miles from the park you will find the award-winning 18 hole Sierra Del Rio Golf Course at the renowned Turtleback Mountain Resort. The views from the course are stunning.

Spaceport America nearby gives you the chance to see the future for yourself! This is the world’s first purpose-built commercial spaceport. Bus tours are available now, running every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from Elephant Butte and Truth or Consequences. Immerse yourself in the next generation of space flight to learn and discover hands-on efficient and effective access to space.

RV Sites and Park Amenities

Our 128-site park has five levels and covers 33 acres! It features landscaped pull-thru & back-in sites. Average site sizes are 32 x 80′ (pull thru) and 40 x 60′ (back in). Our monthly Premium RV Sites include a concrete pad, awning and storage shed (10 x 12′ with a 4′ door).
