Action Line Cuts to the Chase Again

Good Sam member Harold Hahny wrote to Action Line asking for help getting his money back from the publisher of a guide to discounted RV camping:

I purchased a “membership” from RV Park SuperGuide for $47.77. It was supposed to give half price or greatly reduced camping at RV parks. I received my directory online. I called 10 different parks, and not one of them had heard of RV Park SuperGuide. I requested my money back on their 30-day guarantee. They said to return the directory, and they would refund my money. I explained that the only directory I received was online. I had used PayPal as payment and filed a complaint with them. PayPal ruled in my favor, but when the vendor told them that I wouldn’t return the directory, they denied the claim. I have contacted Covenant Publishing about 20 times, and when they do respond, they say to return the directory and they will issue a refund!

Action Line contacted the publisher of RV Park SuperGuide and explained Harold Hahny’s situation and why he was requesting a refund. Later, Action Line received the following message from Mr. Hahny:

I want to thank you—we got our refund! It took 47 emails from me and three from Paypal but only one from you! Our mail just caught up with us, and the check was there. Right on, Good Sam Action Line.

WHILE RETURNING FROM FL.WE HAD A BLOWOUT ON THE TRAILER . HAD A SPARE AND CALLED GOOD SAM ROAD SERVICE DECIDED TO HAVE THEM BRING A NEW TIRE. THE OPERATER TOLD ME THERE WOULD BE A LABOR CHARGE OF $ 165.00 TO INSTALL THE TIRE ON THE RIM. PLUS THE PRICE OF THE TIRE WITCH I EXPECTED TO PAY. THIS JUST DON’T SOUND RIGHT TO ME. NOT AGOOD WAY TO KEEP MEMBERS!

Good Sam says: I am sorry to hear you had a blowout while traveling. That is never a good thing to have happen. Remember Good Sam Roadside Assistance, brought the tire shop to you on the road. The cost might seem high, however if a doctor has to make a housecall he charges a premium as well. It is the same with a tire service. They bring the tire, they mount & balance it on the spot. Plus as it states in the Members Benefits Brochure, we doe not cover any parts or labor charges incured. If you would like to discuss this more please feel free to e-mail us at [email protected]

Would like to have someone check out Springs Auto and Truck on E. Galley Rd..we are having a lot of the same issues as with Springs Transmission..took a month and 1250.00 to get our motorhome back..they wrecked it and didn’t tell us until we confronted them about it..and it was just patched not replaced like it should have been..they continually threw parts at the motorhome without fixing the problem..we still have issues with the brakes which we didn’t have originally just had intermittent power steering problem..my husband tried to fix it, but with his work schedule and the weather, we took it to Springs Auto so we could have use of it for a planned trip to Wyoming..due to the length of time they had the motorhome, we had to go and stay at a motel..they charged 700.00 for diagnostics and 500.00 of that was never authorized by us..he finally gave us 250.00 of that back, but we had to buy parts for them to make a tool to complete the diagnostics..we were told it was fixed and when we went to pick it up the problem was still there so they refunded the money we paid and kept the coach for another two weeks at which time they called to say it was ready again..they replaced the power steering pump that my husband had just put on..they replaced under warranty, they put three more power boosters on even though we had purchased one from them for $500.00..they replaced under warranty and then they said it was the valve so we had to pay for another part plus labor..when we picked it up it cost us 1250.00 and after sitting on the street that night, the fluid was still running out the overflow..after calling Devon he said it was probably a loose connection, however we saw it running out of the overflow..he wanted us to bring it back to them for more repairs, but we refuse since they do not know what they are doing..i request a refund of the labor since I am having to pay another shop to make the repairs that they did not make, but they refused. When we got the motorhome back the carpets were all covered with grease, and greasy gloves were laying in the sink, under the couch and under the seats..someone also had used the toiled and covered it with tissue to hide it..Pat Ballard, 393-5476, 1095 western dr. lot 192c, Colorado springs, CO

Good Sam says: We’re sorry to hear you had so much trouble. I have replied to your email with Action Line’s contact information.

  3. I have a problem. ever drawer in my r.v. has broken at the plastic socket screwed to the back of the drawer rail. It must be common because camping world has the parts. I would think that a 40 tho sunnybrook would have a solution.

Good Sam says: We’re sorry to hear that you’re having trouble. I have contacted you by email to resolve this.

    Re; the action line
rv facory weld issue in lastmonths trailer life
Why does it take al this for the MFG’s for fix their problems ??
the one about the rv comming apart because of missing factory welds on the frame is a danerous situatiom and could have got somebody killed with the pin box moving and the walls inside cracking!
they should have recieved a bran new rv instead of the factory fixing it!!
maybe you should ask the MFG in this case to give them a nwe rv and a few thousand dollars for they trouble and indanerment. if i were them I’d have a law suit going.
is that what it sigo to take for the RV industry to be respondsible?
Good Sams club should be asking ths to ALL RV Manufactures.
    and aks why??
