Once you’re settled into your site, you’ll want to visit the Historic District in downtown Columbus and stroll the 28-block stretch of restored Victorian homes, gardens and gazebos. Consider a tour through some of the spectacular 19 th-century house museums in Heritage Corner. Among them is the home of Dr. John S. Pemberton, who invented the original formula for Coca-Cola.

Take a stroll on The RiverWalk, an outdoor 15-mile park that hugs the banks of the Chattahoochee River. Along this river was the Indian nation’s most extensive trading center. And just envision Early Spanish Explorers viewing the falls nearby.

Visit The Columbus Museum. It is one of the largest cultural centers in the Southeast.  The Columbus Museum is unique for its American art and regional history.

You won’t want to miss the Columbus’ National Infantry Museum, which honors the valor of the U.S. Army Infantrymen.  Here you will see the sacrifices made by ordinary American citizens who gave up everything to defend the nation that they loved.

Also in Columbus is The National Civil War Naval Museum. It is home to the largest surviving Confederate warship, the CSS Jackson, as well as the wreckage of the CSS Chattahoochee.  Exhibits will take you through the war’s most notable naval events.
