Tropic is bordered on three sides by acclaimed Bryce Canyon National Park, the town of Tropic is named after its relatively mild climate, which results in colorful fruit blossoms.

Settled by just 15 families in 1892, Tropic is now home to more than 500 residents. Tropic is located on Scenic Byway 12-Utah’s only All-American Road, and welcomes visitors to its Heritage Center Museum. The Museum showcases the area’s diverse natural and cultural history.

Continue on to Cannonville where pioneers settled the town in 187 6 and named it after Mormon Apostle George Q. Cannon.

Visitors can learn about the Mormon settlers as well as the area’s Paiute Indian heritage at the U.S. Bureau of Land Management’s Cannonville Visitor Center.
