Often considered the Eighth Wonder of the World the huge granite surface of Stone Mountain dominates the horizon east of downtown Atlanta. The mountain is home to the world’s largest relief sculpture in the world depicting the heroes of the Confederate Army, President Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson. The beauty of Stone Mountain Park draws over four million people a year. Those people can enjoy the Stone Mountain Village at the base of the mountain listed in the Register of National Historic Places. And don’t miss Stone Mountain Park also at the base.
If you want to get away from the mountain scenery, than you can visit the World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta. The museum shows the rich history of the tasty beverage and lets you sample products from the United States and other countries as well.
