Check out these highlights of RV-related news, events and video from this past fortnight.
1. Winnebago Via Showcased at Washington, DC, Event: Winnebago Industries, Inc., the nation’s top-selling motor home manufacturer, recently showcased the all-new high-mileage Class A Winnebago Via motorhome for participants in the Forum on Stimulating Economic Vitality and Resource Conservation, a gathering of top national and state tourism and park leaders hosted by the U.S. Department of Interior. The event was held in downtown Washington, D.C., on September 15, and allowed key RV industry leaders, state tourism officials, the managers of public lands and others to discuss increasing visits by Americans to national parks while making this use sustainable.
2. RV Showers – Yours or the campground’s?: What do you use your shower for? Showering? Or is it a storage area or a place for the kitty litter box or laundry basket? RV.net blogger Jaimie Hall Bruzenak discusses the many uses of the RV shower, and whether or not using a campground shower is better than the one in your own home on wheels.
3. Engineering Professors Develop New Hybrid Vehicle Concept for RV Travelers: Dr. Steve Shepard Jr., University of Alabama associate professor of mechanical engineering, and his father, Dr. Steve Shepard Sr., a former faculty member and researcher at Mississippi State University, developed the idea for a hybrid dinghy pusher after the cost of fuel curtailed both families’ RV traveling plans. The electric-hybrid passenger vehicle has the ability to improve fuel economy and increase the acceleration of the motorhome towing it.

Kenya,This is a sad occurance for you, but I liked how you made the video and added the music. That was prttey good. I’m impressed. I couldn’t help but laugh when I heard the song come on, but I’m sorry you had to go without Gadget girl. I know it was hard.

I apologize for the link problems you’ve been having! I’ve fixed it to the shortened version so everyone should be able to open the shower article now. Comment back if you’re still having problems. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience, but I must admit I’m glad to see so much interest in the article.

We have only used our RV shower in 10 years of fulltime use. That is what it is for.

I can’t bring it up either. I tried the shortened version, but it takes me to original RV.Net page. Would like to see the article.

Ok I did finally get it open. The links in various places don’t work, but I eliminated some characters at the end of the address and now it works. Try this: http://blog.rv.net/2009/09/rv-showers-yours-or-the-campground

Same here, would someone please look into this? I have been trying daily to open this article since it first showed up in my email, and have tried any number of different ways to get into it…including trying to open in both Firefox and IE.

I have no been able to open the article on RV Showers. I don’t know why because all the other articles open with no problem.
