Stone Mountain Park sits as an urban oasis just minutes away from downtown Atlanta.
The park is home to the largest piece of exposed granite in the world, featuring 3,200 acres of activities for every member of the family.
Georgia’s most visited destination includes more than a dozen attractions, historical and natural sights, two Marriott hotels, two championship golf courses, expansive natural woodlands with hiking trails and the state’s largest campground.
Stone Mountain Camping
At Stone Mountain Park Campground there are 250 full or partial hook-up (water/electric/sewer) campsites for RVs. There’s also a variety of pull-through, head-in and back-in campsites available, plus 125 partial hook-up (water/electric) campsites for tents and pop-ups, and 46 primitive tent sites.
For those looking for a new camping or “glamping” experience, Stone Mountain Park Campground’s yurts, made of wood and canvas and positioned on the lakefront, provide an interesting twist on the outdoor experience. For those looking to “Rough It” a little more, the park offers Safari Tents which are made of canvas and have a wooden frame to support the tent.
The park offers rental trailer sites, helping guests enjoy the pleasure and relaxation of RV camping without needing to own an RV or motorhome.
The Campground amenities include grills, picnic tables and fire rings at each site, as well as heated comfort stations and laundry facilities, a swimming pool, sand volleyball court, children’s playground, on-site general store, and more.
Stone Mountain Adventure
One of the highlights of the Stone Mountain Park Campground is the proximity to the park’s attractions and special events. Stone Mountain Park’s Adventure Pass guarantees a full day of fun with access to of the park’s family fun attractions such as: Summit Skyride, 4D Theater, Geyser Towers®, Sky Hike, The Great Locomotive Chase Adventure Golf®, The Great Barn®, Scenic Railroad, Historic Square and Discovering Stone Mountain Museum.
In addition to the park attractions, Stone Mountain Park is the only place in the state where guests can Ride The Ducks. The amphibious sightseeing adventure takes visitors on a 20-minute tour on land and in water throughout the park.
One of the events the park is most famous for is the seasonal Lasershow Spectacular. The show features 45 minutes of dazzling fireworks, lights and laser effects all choreographed to great music. The Lasershow runs from March to October. Please check the operating calendar on the Stone Mountain Park website for show dates and times. During the winter, Campground guests may enjoy a visit to Stone Mountain Christmas or Snow Mountain, offering snow tubing lanes from mid-November to February.
