Airstream RV Blog – Episode 1 : The Long, Long Honeymoon from Sean on Vimeo.

It seems strangely appropriate that my first post on RV.net coincides with April Fool’s Day. You’ll never know how tempted I’ve been to post about space aliens converging upon Area 51 in flying Airstream travel trailers. But one suspects that sort of bad blog behavior (bloghavior? sorry) might bring my tenure here to a sudden end. So we’re going to keep today’s post on an even keel. Or to put it in RV parlance, our stabilizer jacks are down, and the refrigerator’s level. We’re on our best behavior.

Last year my wife and I got hitched, and began honeymooning aboard our travel trailer. We took the old “never stop honeymooning” advice quite literally, drifting around North America for months. We camped in private campgrounds, national parks, parking lots, you name it. We also started a blog to keep our friends and family updated.

What began as a hobby became something more. Our blog gave us the opportunity to share travel footage with people BEFORE we returned home. Our RV honeymoon played out like a reality show, without all the catty fighting and cash prizes. We met lots of people from around the world through our site, and had a great time doing it. So we pledged to not only keep on honeymooning, but also to keep on blogging. Our focus is usually upon the lighter side of RV-ing; the fun stuff!

Today’s video is new material. It dates back to that special time BEFORE we got married. We had just bought our Airstream and our truck, and were setting sail for the Florida Keys. They say you always remember your first time (your first time towing, that is). Thankfully, our first big RV trip was fantastic.

Please note that “Part 2” of this video is now available here:
    http://blog.rv.net/2008/04/08/how-to-convince-your-wife-to-honeymoon-in-an-rv/

And by the way, if you want to see our videos on the “BIG SCREEN” in high-definition, just head on over to our website at http://www.thelonglonghoneymoon.com.

We have dozens of HD RV honeymoon videos. HD video…it’s a beautiful thing. Stay tuned!

Jason, how do you know that WE aren’t the space aliens? ::evil laugh:: 😉

John, I agree with you about sleeping in your OWN bed! RV-ing is quite brilliant; I love the sensation of traveling far from home, and yet never really leaving home.

We have a lot of fun making the videos. Most were edited on my laptop, right there on the foldout table in our camper! I approached the creative task as something akin to those Discovery Channel TV shows in which the entire show is shot without a camera crew. It can be done…it just takes a LOT of effort. So I really appreciate it when folks take the time to give us positive feedback. Thanks to everyone for the kind comments.

GREAT production Sean & Kristy. I too am looking forward to more posts. And BTW, welcome to the wonderful of world of RVing. I’ve been doing it full time in Class A motorhome for just over four years and extended time (4-6 months) for 6 years prior. No better way to do what you want, where you want, the way you want and best of all you can sleep in your OWN BED every night. Love the added touch that you have done with the videos too. Keep it up.

Gypsy (ragdoll kitty) & Gypsy John wish you two the very best!!!
