Tiffin motorhomes is recalling certain model year 2007-2011 Phaeton, model year 2008-2010 Bus, and model year 2010 Allegro motorhomes equipped with Kongsberg automotive adjustable brake pedals. The adjustable brake pedal arm may loosen, which could greatly increase the risk of a crash.

| Summary: Tiffin motorhomes is recalling certain model year 2007-2011 Phaeton, model year 2008-2010 Bus, and model year 2010 Allegro motorhomes equipped with Kongsberg automotive adjustable brake pedals. The adjustable brake pedal arm may loosen allowing the arm to rotate around its shaft and swing in front of the accelerator pedal, reducing braking function. Consequence: A loose brake pedal increases the risk of a crash. |
| Remedy: Daimler Trucks (DTNA) is performing recall repairs and notification to owners. The owners were initially notified by DTNA Trucks on December 22, 2009, and a follow-up notice was mailed to owners on July 20, 2011. First of all, we suggest checking your owners manual to see if it has information on the type of brake pedal installed in your unit. If it either doesn’t contain the information or it says that your unit does have a Kongsberg adjustable brake pedal, your next step would be to contact Tiffin, the manufacturer of these motorhomes. The company has a sterling customer service reputation and will certainly answer your questions.

I just purchased a 2008 Phaeton from a private owner the 1st of August. How can I tell if this coach has the Kongberg adjustable brake pedals and if it does if it has been checked and or fixed? I have not received and notice of the recall until I just read the article here.
