This series highlights some of the preceding week’s top RV articles from various online sources. Only articles/videos of interest to the RV industry or RV community will be on this list. This series is a sort of “mini-index” of hot new RV content for the week.
1. RV Consumer Loans Added to TALF Funding: The Federal Reserve Board announced it will buy RV loans along with car loans and other consumer loans. The Recreational Vehicle Industry Association successfully argued to policymakers that the lack of credit was critical, and that RV manufacturers would plunge into further financial distress if consumers and dealers could not borrow money to buy RVs.
2. California Allows Continued Use of R134a Refrigerant: A new rule approved by the California Air Resources Board will allow do-it-yourselfers to continue buying R134a automotive refrigerant to service their RV air conditioning systems. The law requires new product packaging, consumer education and a deposit/return system.
3. There’s a new hitch on the market designed for those RVers who have light-weight trailers under 4,000 lbs. yet still want the performance of an original Equal-i-zer 4-Point Sway Control hitch. Progress Manufacturing debuted its 4K Equal-i-zer® hitch at last year’s RVIA show in Louisville, Kentucky and released it on the market early this month. Learn more.
4. East Coast RV Shows Coming Feb. 27, 2009: Visit the 16th Annual Rhode Island RV & Camping Show at the R.I. Convention Center in Providence to see all the latest products at great deals. Get two-for-one adult admission on Friday & Saturday after 6 p.m.
Check out the 20th Annual RV & Camping Show at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. You can buy discounted tickets online to save time; as a bonus, you’ll get a free 6-month subscription to Trailer Life Magazine.
5. 2009 Good Sam Club Shelby 427 Samboree: Attend the Samboree (Feb. 26-March 2, 2009) and enjoy 4 nights of camping at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the newest Super-Speedway to be built in the Southwest in 20 years. Glad to see your series. Feel free to use any of my photographs (vistagraphs) in
your articles. I retired from the State of California as a systems analyst five years ago and now follow my dream making photographs of the US beauty as found in its parks.
I print them on canvas. They consist of a series of photographs stitched together and are as big as eight feet by three feet.
Enjoy. Keep em coming.
