Check out these highlights of RV-related news, events and video from this past week.

geeksrig21. Geeks on Tour – at The Rally: Self-described computer geeks Jim and Chris Guld will be holding 4 seminars on computer education for Rvers at The Rally this weekend. Learn about Google Maps, Picasa photo manager, Wi-Fi and much more. Visit the Geeks on Tour website for more info and for free video tutorials.

    2. You Decide, I Report…Live From The Rally: Green RVer Brian Brawdy will be posting video clips from The Rally for those of us who couldn’t make it to Albuquerque this weekend. Perhaps there is an event or product you’d really like to see. Well, just go on to Twitter or Facebook and tell Brian what you want to see and why, and he’ll post a video of The Rally highlights right here on RV.net!

    3. Earth-Friendly RVs and Accessories in Demand: The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports that RVers are transferring their eco-friendly lifestyle to their RVs and RV-related products, thereby minimizing their impact on the natural world they enjoy so much. As demand for greener, earth-friendly products has increased, so has the supply of new eco-friendly products and RVs on the market. Hybrid engines are getting a lot of attention lately, as are roof-top solar energy panels. Read the full article.

twboatramp14. By Land or By Sea: While the amphibious vehicle concept has been around nearly 100 years, it’s never been applied to an RV until John Giljam created the Terra Wind amphibious motorcoach. This luxurious Class A doubles as a houseboat that can drive right into lakes using a regular boat launch. Watch this short video to see the Terra Wind in action!

    5. Easter RV Travel Surge Jumpstarts the Season: Channel 14 News in Charlotte, North Carolina reports that RV travel is off to a robust start this year despite the weak economy, as families took to the highways for the Easter weekend. Low gas prices mean more RVers are choosing to take trips that they didn’t take last year when fuel was $4 a gallon.
