As the saying goes: “location, location, location!” When it comes to RV travel, location is key, and Pahrump, Nevada is one of the premier camping destinations on the map. Located between fabulous Las Vegas and awe-inspiring Death Valley National Park, this welcoming home of 36,000 residents has the perfect mix of small town charm and the great outdoors. Plus, it offers many of the conveniences of a city, but with pretty much none of the traffic or hassle.

Even better, each year Pahrump hosts two fantastic events—the Fall Festival and the Grape Stomp. Both are extremely popular with RVers.

Fall Festival

The 2017 Fall Festival is set for Thursday, Sept. 21 through Sunday, Sept. 24 at Petrack Park, the heart of Pahrump civic life. It’s a four-day, All-American celebration filled with family-friendly activities for travelers of all ages. During the festival, the park will be filled with a carnival complete with a Ferris wheel, roller coaster, and other thrilling rides. In the midway, you can test your skills for prizes at classic games. You’re bound to get hungry and thirsty during your visit, so there will be numerous food and beverage vendors with a wide selection of tasty menu items. You’ll also be able to peruse arts and crafts booths for that special keepsake or a present for the folks back home!

Of course, no festival is complete without parade, and on Saturday morning, the community and visitors alike will join together along Highway 160 for a two-mile celebration. More than 50 creatively decorated floats will travel along the route, which will surely be unforgettable. To cap off all the excitement, there will be an old-fashioned rodeo on Friday and Saturday evening. Bull riding and team roping are sure to thrill, and don’t forget the hilarious and courageous rodeo clowns.

Pahrump Grape StompGrape Stomp

Saturday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Oct. 8 brings the annual Grape Stomp to Pahrump Valley Winery. If you’re a wine lover and you’ve never experienced a grape stomp, it’s time to take off your shoes and step in a barrel (you can just watch, too). Each year, thousands of visitors converge on Pahrump’s first winery to bask in harvest season weather and enjoy glasses of locally crafted vintages like Chardonnay, Syrah, and Merlot. To stomp fruit fresh off the vine, sign up for daily competitions. For 15 minutes, you’ll pump your legs to squeeze out the juice—it’s definitely messy, completely hilarious, and an excellent workout. The two days will also feature gourmet food, live music, craft booths, and strolls around the beautiful, tree-filled estate.

Beyond these two fantastic gatherings, Pahrump is filled with even more attractions, like Spring Mountain Motor Resort and Country Club and Mountain Falls Golf Course. Plus, it features three perfectly-rated 10/10/10 RV Resorts: Lakeside Casino and RV ParkWine Ridge RV Resort & Cottages and Nevada Treasure RV Resort. There are a number of other highly rated RV parks, as well. Finally, there’s an abundance of gorgeous scenery all about.

Make Pahrump your “location” this fall.
