As visitors to our Facebook page (http://Facebook.com/LongLongHoneymoon) know, this week our faithful truck SEEMORE, a 2007 Ford F250 6.0L diesel, crossed the 100,000 mile mark.
Much of SEEMORE’s mileage has been logged towing our Airstream. He’s earned a little extra cetane boost (http://goo.gl/ro8v3K) in his evening meal.
Over the years, this truck has hauled our RV throughout North America like a champ.
SEEMORE has seen 49 states, and much of Canada. (Thank goodness we returned south before he developed a taste for that pricey Canadian diesel.)
This truck could tow the Statue of Liberty over the Grand Tetons – at least it feels that way.
SEEMORE boasts more than enough torque and horsepower to handle our 25-foot Airstream Classic model. Our trailer tips the scales at around 7300 pounds before we load her up with chips and beer.
SEEMORE has the full factory “tow/haul” package with integrated engine braking – a wonderful feature that has probably saved our bacon (and aluminum) on a few occasions.
Sure, our relationship with SEEMORE has seen a few testy moments. But hey – what’s a little EGR cooler failure between friends? Whenever we hit a rough patch of road, we always patched up our diesel buddy and kept on rolling.
These days, upon the recommendation of a diesel mechanic, we slip a little Diesel Kleen cetane boost in SEEMORE’s food. Cetane boost offers a host of performance improvements, or so they say.
So today we scribe this note of tribute to SEEMORE.
Thanks for towing our rig safely all these years.
Here’s to the NEXT 100,000 miles…
