Entertainment at the Rally

The entertainment at this year’s Rally, presented by DISH Network, is getting better and better. With professional entertainment each evening, country music megastar Vince Gill will headline the event with a performance Rally-goers are sure to remember.

Releasing his debut album in 1984, Vince Gill remains one of Country music’s most decorated and acclaimed performers. He has sold more than 26 million albums and earned 18 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards, including being named Entertainer of the Year in both 1993 and 1994. He is a member of the Grand Ole Opry, has earned 19 Grammy Awards (the most of any male country artist), and in 2007 was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Decades of country music lovers recognize Gill’s hits, including “I Still Believe in You,” “When Love Finds You,” “What the Cowgirls Do,” “Whenever You Come Around,” “Never Knew Lonely,” “Which Bridge to Cross (Which Bridge to Burn),” “You Better Think Twice,” “Don’t Let Our Love Start Slippin’ Away,” “One More Last Chance,” “Tryin’ to Get Over You,” and “No Future in the Past.”

Gill started his career playing the guitar, banjo, and other string instruments in a variety of bluegrass groups, including Ricky Skaggs’s Boone Creek Band. In 1979, he joined Pure Prairie League as their lead singer and recorded three albums with the band, the first of which yielded the hit “Let Me Love You Tonight.”

In addition to his hit solo records, Gill has also made a name for himself recording duets with such superstars as Reba McIntyre, Rosanne Cash, Barbra Streisand, and Dolly Parton. He continues to bring his musical talents to various bands — in 1991 winning a CMA Vocal Event of the Year for his performance with Mark O’Connor and the New Nashville Cats. Multi-talented, Gill is also known for his gracious hosting of the CMA Awards for 12 consecutive years, from 1992 to 2003.

The Rally entertainment lineup doesn’t end with Gill.
