Canadians are crazy about all kinds of outdoor recreation. It doesn’t matter if it’s summer or winter; you name the season and we are famous for our outdoor activities. Hockey is a great example! After all, let’s face it, recreation is good for you; promoting health and wellness, leadership and inclusion.
Edmonton
Spruce Grove is 11 km (6.5 mi.) from Edmonton; home of the Edmonton Oilers hockey team. Spruce Grove offers an ideal mix of shops and restaurants, together with an abundant variety of leisure recreational opportunities. There are almost 50 parks and playgrounds to choose from.
So Much To Do
Diamond Grove RV Campground is in the middle of Spruce Grove and adjoins Cpl. Jim Galloway off-leash park; an excellent recreational park with 3 km (almost 2 mi.) of paved walking trails for you and your traveling pets. No need to leave the park for exercise for you and your dog.
So many recreational opportunities abound in Spruce Grove; including but not limited to two parks with splash pads and rotary playscape designed for kids of all ages. Bring your roller blades to Brookwood Rink and play disc golf at Jubilee Park.
Did someone say “pickleball”? There are 18 free outdoor courts in Henry Singer Park, open May – October. Bring your golf clubs to Diamond Grove RV Campground; the Links at Spruce Grove is considered one of Alberta’s premier golf courses! This 18-hole championship course has an interesting blend of large bent grass greens, rolling terrain, tree-lined fairways and 70 sand traps. Water comes into play on 6 holes.
We Canadians are a hardy bunch. We play golf in the summer and use this golf course for excellent cross-country skiing in the winter!
