When you need a home office, and you live in a motorhome, you need to make some modifications. We’ve been living and working in our 30 ft class C for almost 5 years now. I’ve compiled some photos and put together a slide show/video of how we customized it to include 2 computer offices. You should see a Google video below. I’ll let the video tell you the rest. btw – this video is made using Photo Story 3 which I introduced in a previous post.

Or you can choose to view the High Resolution Windows Media player version.

We know this isn’t for everyone – most people need more space. Jim and I just don’t need much space. We even enjoyed plenty of tent camping before living in a motorhome. This is luxury. And, we especially like being able to go lots of places that the big rigs can’t – like friends’ driveways, or national Forest campgrounds.

All the photos used in this slide show (and more) can be found on our Web Album.

Our friends who are skilled at remodeling can be found at HaveToolsWillTravel.us. Check out the beautiful wood floor they put in their own motorhome.Chris Guld

Thus, it is creating a lot of development jobs for
pro workers too. This does not include the gardening and
      component vendors.

Chris C – thanks for the heads-up on the broken link. I had changed the name of the album, not realizing that it would, dynamically, change the link name. ooops! I fixed it now.

      Hi There,

Read your article about your work stations……Great job…..

However, when I tried both of your URLs “Web Album”, I received
      “404 NOT_FOUND” errors…..

I suspect your links are bad…..

      Regards,

      Chris C

I thank you for the inspiration. I am looking to go fulltime in a class C and want to set up an office space. RV dealers keep telling me not to make changes because of resell value or other reasons, but I figure if I am going to be living in it and I need an office to work from – I’m doing it anyway. I don’t want to move my laptop everytime I am going to eat.

One reason I am going to an RV is I am tired of hotels and eating out every day for months at a time. Full-time RVing has been a long time dream and now that I work on the road with my new business, I am excited to make the transition. I should be on the road within the month.

I viewed your pictures and got some ideas for my work area. I have a laptop and am a writer. We have a table and two chairs in our Monaco Lapalma . I want someplace to sit at the computer that is comfortable , but can be put away when not in use. The office chair is probably the most comfortable. We almost never use our dining room table to eat on. We sit outside or have the pull out tables that fit under the sofa or fold down.
We have been full timing for three years and were in our motor home nine months out of the year for the past ten years.
We really enjoy this lifestyle. My husband had a stroke Oct 1st, 2007 and was paralized on his right side. He was in a nursing home/therapy place for a month and asked them to train him to go up and down five steps….because he did not want to sell his motor home. He is now walking and using a walker and cane. It was great in the motor home because everything is close and he could hold on to things. It was a great incentive for him to get well.
You can really tell by your article and pictures just how much you both enjoy your home on wheels.. Aren’t all the rvers just great people? We love them.
I would say to anyone that is thinking about full timing …….do your research quickly, and if it’s really what you want, go for it.

Great job on the presentation and remodel job. I’ve been looking for rails for my DR table…where’d you find them?

Loved viewing the photo album! How unique that you have re-made your motorhome to fit your personal needs. You inspired me with several good ideas that I will implement in my motorhome. Happy motoring!

Now a 24 inch iMac sure would look nice in that 30 foot mobile “OFFICE” of yours. Of course you would have to find work-arounds for things like Photo Story 3 and such, but the picture & sound quality is like NOTHING that the PC world has ever seen!

Chris you did a fantastic job putting together this presentation! You’ve come a long way from when I first met you and Jim in 2004!

Great office setup in that Class C. Flat panel is the way to go. I myself would prefer a laptop, true mobility!
