June 21, 2012 (Chicago, IL) – Camping World, the nation’s largest RV and outdoor retailer, today announced that it is set to reach a new milestone in the company’s history opening its 100th RV superstore in the next several months.

“More than 46 years ago, Camping World opened its very first storefront location in Bowling Green, KY, and to announce today’s milestone of projections to open our 100th store testifies to the continued, power of our brand, strength of the team and the loyalty of customers; which are all leading forces behind the growth of our business,” said Marcus Lemonis, Chairman and CEO of Camping World and Good Sam.

The 100th store opening is indicative of Camping World’s disciplined and strategic growth strategy, in which the retailer continues to successfully grow the business and define itself as the clear leader in the RV and outdoor industry based on aggregate revenue, growth and market share.

Camping World along with its sister company Good Sam currently employs approximately 5,000 associates and is the largest workforce in the Outdoor and RV Industries operating locations in 33 states.

“As cliché as this sounds, I feel 100% confident to say that outside of our strong and loyal customer base, we’ve been blessed with the best associates in the industry, and they are the reason for our level of success,” said Lemonis.

“Roger Nuttall and Johnny Sirpilla, both 20 plus year industry veterans have led our charge in the success and growth in our Dealership and Retail business respectively,” continued Lemonis.  “These two unit Presidents have focused on fundamentals while taking the lead installing progressive processes and products.”

The Good Sam Club is the world’s largest organization of recreational vehicle (RV) owners and with their growth approaching 1.5 million members nationwide, the company feels the need to have a vast network of RV dealerships and retail stores to serve the RV community’s needs is essential .

“In my 26 years with Camping World it has been my vision to see the company flourish as it has,” said Mike Siemens, President of the Good Sam Club. “As our club continues to grow towards the 1.5 million member milestone, our members are looking for better convenience and more value and it is our goal to deliver that.”

The Good Sam Club offers RVers the resources to make the most of the RV lifestyle, including significant savings on RV campgrounds, insurance, roadside assistance and extended service contracts.

“Our growth in the number of Good Sam Roadside Assistance and Extended Service Contract base has raised the expectations of our customers and they deserve an extensive network to service and repair their RV while enjoying the use of their trailer or coach,” remarked Lemonis.

This is great for areas that don’t have a store near by. There is a problem in centeral FL. You have opened to may stores and now that business is slow you are having to lay people off. We have a family member that start working for you over the last year, worked hard to lean the business and gaven many hours of hard work to get the new store open. She was hired as an asist-manager on the sales floor, she left her other job to take this job. She had friend and family from all over the state coming into store buying campers and gear. Now that sales are slow due to having two stores in the same area, she was layed off. She was told that soon as things better for Camping World that she may get job back. MY question to you is, why should she wait on things to get better for Camping World when you did not care about what was good for her. You could have shorten and shared hours between the sales staff. May next time you need to think about how many stores are in one area and if there is going to be enough business .
