Recently, we got a chance to try Campfire in a Can (http://goo.gl/raeY5K). What the heck is Campfire in a Can? It’s a turnkey solution for quick, easy, and surprisingly satisfying campfires.

The clean and easy solution for a nice campfire.

In other words, it’s a portable propane fire pit. This product exists to deliver a clean and easy campfire at a moment’s notice. It’s fueled by propane, so it doesn’t produce embers. Even if you are camping in a fire ban area, this device is “fire ban approved.” It’s safe to burn on a wood deck or patio carpet.

    Check out those flames!

With this sort of product, the key analysis must be the fire itself. A lot of propane fire pits are wimpy (that’s the technical term). Does the Campfire in a Can fire cut the mustard?

There's actually a lot of thoughtful design here.

On this crucial point, I was quite impressed by Campfire in a Can. The output from Campfire in a Can does not have a typical wimpy artificial fire appearance – the fire seems much like a real campfire, with flames and heat as intense as anyone could want. The company claims it produces 64,000 BTU’s of heat, making it literally the hottest such product on the market. Thankfully, the output is completely adjustable.

It weighs 16.5 pounds, so if you’ve got room you can easily carry it with you. The aluminum canister top serves as both a stand and protective carrying case.

As the sun set and the desert began to turn from hot & sunny to windy & cool, we broke out the vino and a campfire.

If you are camping in one spot for a while, you might consider embedding the Campfire in a Can inside a decorative pot, nestling it amidst lava rocks.

Campfire in a Can includes two fire features – there’s a sleek black reflective glass feature, and a realistic one-piece log set (which is what we saw).

Overall we were impressed by Campfire in a Can. If you want a nice propane fire pit that’s meant for camping, this is a good way to go.
