The Cajun Coast Visitors & Convention Bureau has developed several new itineraries and Cajun Coast travel packages to make it easy to travel like a native through the area.
The new itineraries encourage staycations for locals and weekend visits for regional visitors. The itineraries pay special attention to attractions that are all open and awaiting visitors, save the Chitimacha Reservation, so visitors have plenty to experience. And, of course, the Cajun Coast has a wealth of outdoor attractions, such as paddling trails, bird watching or fishing. As a part of the Atchafalaya Basin area, the largest overflow swamp in the United States, this maze of bayous, lakes, ponds and cypress swamps provides a beautiful terrain to enjoy and be as socially distant as you’d like!
There are vacation ideas for just about every traveler, and there are specialty packages for those who are coming in their RV. There are itineraries for just about every traveler in your group — from golf, to history, to ghost tours. Special package pricing is also available on many of the tours. There are packages for just about every locale in the region as well, featuring Morgan City, Cypremort Point, Burns Point, Patterson, Franklin and the town of Berwick. The Bayou Teche Byway tour covers area from Morgan City to St. Martinville.
Stringent cleaning and distancing protocols have been put into place at all of the attractions, and a statewide maskmaring ordinance is in place for added safety of travelers. Our restaurants are serving up Louisiana specialties with the freshest of seafood from the Gulf Coast waters, and most have some on-site dining and many offering pick up or delivery options.
