With only one traffic light, the town of Townsend remains a quiet, laid back getaway. But, rest assured there are many attractions nearby! The campground is 2 miles from The Great Smoky Mountains National Park (9 miles to Cades Cove), 15 miles to Pigeon Forge, 19 miles to Gatlinburg, and 28 miles to the Tail of the Dragon.
Big Meadow Family Campground offers concrete pads and patios with full hook-ups (30 and 50 amp), cable TV, and free WiFi. In the park, you will find a dog park, splash pad, gazebo with a fire ring, pavilion, laundry facilities, propane, RV supplies, and playground. Trout fishing, river rafting, golfing, biking and hiking trails are footsteps away. We can accommodate groups and clubs.
