Have you ever visited Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts? If not, you must visit it soon.

This town, which was founded in 1602, is the island. You will find beautiful beaches, cranberry bogs and charming inns. There is the village of Oak Bluffs, offerring what is said to be the oldest working carousel  in the country. The quaint village of West Tisbury which is home to the West Tisbury farmer’s market and Alley’s General Store.  Aquinnah (Gay Head) has some of the prettiest views at sunset. Take the view in while sampling the local cuisine, which of course is seafood. The village of Menemsha offers the tourist in you, Menemsha’s Beach Plum Inn and Restaurant. This inn not only has some of the best cuisine but also has some of the best beaches and blooming gardens. You can take in the fabulous views while visiting the inn, which is situated on 7 acres overlooking the historic harbor. Finally you will find Martha’s Vineyards largest village, Edgartown. This village is the home of the infamous Charlotte Inn.  This inn is well worth the visit. You will feel like you have stepped into a traditional English Inn.

Is it feasible to take the RV? Are there RV parking and camping sites on th Island, and if so, what’s the ferry fees for a RV and Toad?

Not to take away from the Vineyard, but I might also suggest taking the time to take the ferry a bit further & check out Nantucket, about 35 miles off the coast. Both Islands have their own feel – different and worth visiting both. Although you won’t be able to take your RV, is makes a great day trip. I have a couple links to our trips at

      Nantucket 2007 & Nantucket 2005.
