Somebody asked me how I’ll come up with a new post every Friday, all year long. I laughed and said “no problem”. I rarely run out of something to say (ask my wife).
However, it did cause me to think that I should ask the readers of this blog if there are any topics you’d like me to cover. I’ll give you an overview of some that I’m already planning, and if you want to email me or post a comment with an idea I’ll add it to my list. You can email me at Mac(at)CasinoCamper.com.
Future Topics
- Top States for RV Friendly Casinos— I’ll cover one each week with an explanation of why I think they’re a “top state” and an overview of several casinos, RV parks, attractions, etc. My current list includes CA, NV, MS, MI, and maybe OR, WA, MN.
- Top RV Friendly Casinos for XYZ — Continuing the “Best Of” theme I’ll occasionally do a post like the one yesterday, where I ask you to tell about your favorite casinos for a particular feature. Yesterday it was buffet restaurants. (And yes, to the person who asked, I did post a day early because I thought yesterday was Friday! LOL)
- Gambling for the Casino Camper — We enjoy gambling as a hobby, and we consider ourselves “Frugal Gamblers”. I want to introduce you to that concept. My goal in posting gambling topics will be to help you get the most from your casino experience at the least risk to your entertainment funds.
- Casino Comps — This is part of being a Frugal Gambler, and important enough to mention separately. “Comps” are complementary items, anything the casino gives you free or at reduced price. They can be a big part of the entertainment value you receive from the casino.
- Trip Planning — RVers have many different reasons for their travels; a family vacation, weekend getaway, golf or fishing outing, geocaching, etc. If a casino stop is part of your travel plans I want to help you research and plan where to stop.
- News and Information — When a casino opens a new RV park, changes overnight parking policy, or similar news, if I know about it I’ll post and tell you.
What do you think? Any topics you’d like to see covered? Tell me in the comments area, or email me at Mac(at)CasinoCamper.com.
Happy travels and good luck!

Hi Janette,
That’s in the plans. My posts are once a week on Fridays, and for the next few months about 50% of them will be gambling related. Right now I’m doing a “Gambling 101” series and I’m giving many links to resources around the web.
I often say that knowledge is one of the keys to being a happy recreational gambler. One reason I write for the blog, and maintain http://www.CasinoCamper.com is to help spread gambling knowledge. The goal is to eliminate myths, superstitions, and just plain wrong information that you can find online and in print.
Happy travels, and good luck!
Mac

Have two places your readers might enjoy, one quite reasonable and the other a bit expensive but worth the money if you are travelling in southern Louisiana
The French Quarter RV Park in one block north of the French Quarter, easy exit off and access to I-10. Pull in slots only but within walking distance of most of the French Quarter activities. A bit pricey but I think it is worth the money.
The Coushatta has a very large RV park with shuttle bus transportation to and from the Casino. The casino is an American Indian operation and is quite large with slots, tables an excellent hotel, several resturants and other entertainment. Also has an arcade for the kids. Prices are very reasonable and include access to a large swimming pool, a volley ball court, etc. In addition to the hotel and RV park rents small completely furnished (including cooking untinsels and dishes) price is about the same as a hotel room.

Thanks all for the comments and ideas. I’ll refer back to these when I develop future articles. Bob, casino comps will be a major part of several future topics.

If you are looking for a good place to spend the nite and not pay anything for hookups. Stop at the Grand Casino in Oklahoma.
Mile 178 on I-40. They have electric and water at each paved site. Picnic tables available and a dump station. All you have to do is go into the casino and get a players club card that pays you comps
This is one of the newest Casinos in okla. Three resturants.
Not giving a commercial for the place but know a lot about it. Live 5 miles south.
We have stayed at the small campgrounds of one Casino in New Mexico too. It had a laundry also and it was only $10 a nite back then
Did I mention that the Grand camping is FREE??

Casino comps – We here lots about these but never about how to get them. What do you have t do to get casino comps?

Be sure to include Connecticut in your “RV friendly casinos” articles.

Good idea PokerDiva! Over the last few years there have been many changes in Laughlin, and changes continue to occur. Just the other day we learned the Colorado Belle has stopped allowing RV overnight parking. I’ve added a “full report” on Laughlin to my list.
PokerDiva
We just arrived in Las Vegas yesterday and spent a night in Laughlin on our way here from Quartzsite…we’re full timers for a bit over 2 years now, but long time travelers. I’d like to know what is going on in Laughlin….I had read in one of the magazines in the past that Laughlin had started letting RVers park in areas that we OK with the various businesses…casino’s, stores, etc. However, everything is posted loud and clear that there’s to be NO overnight camping. And actually the town seemed very dead from other times we’d been there. We ended up on the end of town across from Harrah’s hotel (which actually looked so dark that we wondered if it was even open), we were way up the hillside in a parking area with several rigs and a couple of semi’s and a bus. We spent the night and next morning visiting with a guy found out that they pay $25 a week for no hook ups and go to a nearby gas station for water and a dump station. There were several who had been there for months. So I am just curious what the deal is in Laughlin. Having been there years ago when there was only the one small casino/motel and seeing the city grow and now I have a feeling it’s the little city that could, but maybe shouldn’t have.
Thanks………
