We only got about 15 miles up the Alaska Highway before we were stopped by Farmington Fairways, a combination golf course and RV park about 15 miles outside of Dawson Creek, British Columbia. We checked in, got set up, and then signed up to play nine holes late in the evening.
Sunsets that can last for hours and slowly evolve into sunrises are some of the really great things about being in the far North. Our late evening golf game was no exception. As the clock eased forward to nearly 10 p.m., the sky became an endless panorama of color, constantly changing as the clouds moved about in the wind. I shot this picture as we were leaving the course.

This is in ref. to Charlie’s post talking about real RV’ing. I might be a litte biased ref. Ron Dalby because he is my father but your post is way out of line since you don’t know half the facts. My father, and I, were born in Alaska and we camped all our life. We have done the 10 night caneo trips in tents, sheep hunting trips during a flood, and have spent more nights in a tent than probably most people on the planet. Heck; we have even spent a week in a tent following the Iditerod Sled Dog race when the temp. was -40F a night. When you talk about boondocking I am willing to bet my father and I have spent more nights on the side of road, on a hilltop, by a lake, etc… than most.
If you have been RV’ing for 50+ years as you state I highly doubt that you have NEVER hooked up in a nice RV park every once in a while. Please get off your high horse and quit trashing others.

I’ve been RV’in for some 50+ years I’m 75 now and still hang in there boon-dock’in around.
You guys checkin’ in and playing 9 holes of golf , then headin’ to the club house for dinner and drinks are too much. Then you send in your pictures of “Nature” at it’s best. What a bunch of “pink panties”. You would not last a half a day in the real world.
Try some real RV’in sometime give up the “Club” life and see the real world at it’s best, not from the 5 star full hook-up RV MOTEL, and club bar. Or are you afraid of gettin” your white Shoes dirty.
