Soaring Eagle Casino Resort RV ParkThis is the 5th post in a series about the top states for RV friendly casinos.  I started in the spring by featuring southern states, then posted some western favorites, and now we turn to another part of the country.  I’m still in Las Vegas, and this week’s featured state is a 1800 miles away, with forecast high temperatures about 30 degrees (F) cooler than we are.  Sounds nice!  This week’s featured state is…

    Michigan!

Summer is a great time of year to visit Michigan, and it’s a great place to go casino camping.  You’ll find about a dozen RV friendly casinos, and most of them are located in the Upper Peninsula, or the north half of the Lower Peninsula.  Midwestern casinos, operated by Native American tribes, have long been RV friendly.  Many have RV parks, and most without an RV park allow overnight RV parking.  Casino locations are spread around, and this allows for a leisurely trip through the state staying at several casinos for a night or two each or maybe for a week.   Here are two examples:

Bay Mills Resort and Casinos, Brimley, MI

In the Upper Peninsula, located right on Lake Superior and only 20 miles from Sault St. Marie if you want to cross into Canada.  Bay Mills has a full hookup RV park, golf course, restaurants, and of course a casino.  Sites are $25/day with FHU and $17/day WE.  Each site has cable TV, and free Wi-Fi.  This could be a good base of operations for further exploration in the area.

Little River Casino Resort, Manistee, MI

In the lower peninsula, Little River is known for having a great RV park, and they include cable TV, wi-fi, use of the hotel pool, sauna and fitness center.  There’s also a shuttle to the casino, and once there you’ll find several dining and entertainment options.

Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort, Mt. Pleasant MI

Soaring Eagle Casino RV Parking AreaLocated centrally in the Lower Peninsula, Soaring Eagle has an RV park and also allows overnight RV parking.  This casino is no slouch, having earned the AAA four diamond award for their hotel.  The photo here is of the casino and RV parking area, and the photo at the top of the story is of their RV park.  Thanks to Karen B., a reader of my website who contributed these photos.   You’ll find just about everything here; several dining options, a spa, frequent live performances by headliners, and even a Kids Quest.

Additional RV friendly casinos are listed on my website, and if you know of one that I’ve missed let me know.  I’ve started this thread on the Open Roads Forum so we can chat about casino camping in Michigan.

Happy travels, and good luck at the casinos!

Just stayed at ROLLING HILLS CASINO In california this weekend, an up date about the place, It is not conected to the casino, just in their back yard a manager for some one else runs it, a $25.00 a night full hook up site must be paid in advance to get in. No refunds and all sites are long and pull thru. The Standard Gas station is also not part of the Casino and even with their Club Card you dont get any discount on anything but $1.00 off the buffett. But all in all its a fair stop over if you need it. Free overnight parking is with the Trucks and there are ever so many….
