Midwest Gaming and Travel magazine runs an annual survey of readers to find out which casinos are their favorites in various categories. It’s called the “Reader’s Choice Awards”. Along with asking which casinos have the best video poker, best lounge, friendliest staff, etc. they also ask about the best RV park.
The ratings are separated into two categories; commercial casinos, and Native American casinos. You may find the results of all these surveys to be useful for planning your casino based travels, especially if you haven’t visited the area before. This week I’ll share with you the Readers Choice Awards 2009 for the commercial casinos with the best RV parks:
Casino Queen, East St. Louis, Illinois
One of my readers said: “The RV Park is very nice. All sites are fairly level paved and long providing 20/30/50A electric, water, sewer, cable and Internet (phone) hookups. There are a half-dozen picnic areas along the middle of the park with bbqs. There were also a couple of small playgrounds for the kids. There are trains and transit in the area and there is some noise from these, but not too bad.
The RV park is located just to the east of the river and you can see the Gateway Arch. Travel into Saint Louis is easy… and the park will provide shuttle to the transit if desired.. in addition to the casino. The casino is really not far away and could easily be walked.”
Wild Rose Casino, Emmetsburg, Iowa
One of my readers said: “This is a new ,land based casino built to take the place of the Mississippi Belle II riverboat, which will no longer be a casino. The lot is large and level, plenty of room for RVs.”
Lady Luck Casino, Caruthersville, Missouri
Official word from the casino is: We offer 27 spaces for RV parking with full hook-ups and 24 hour security; $20 per night with discounts available for Good Sams Club members. Laundry and shower area open 24 hours. Open year round; picnic grove and pavilion; casino within walking distance. Reservations can be made by calling (800) 679-4945 between the hours of 12 p.m. and 10 p.m.
RVs are also welcome to park overnight in the casino’s parking lot at no charge.
Happy travels, and good luck in the casinos!

Harrah’s Tunica Mississippi RV Park. Can’t be beat. Out in the country, extra wide clear concrete sites. Full hookups. (Great Water) $18/day with Good Sam’s discount. Hourly shuttle to Casino. No residential or commercial within miles. Short drive to Elvis Land and I think there s a total of 11 Casino’s. Sam’s Town and Hollywood Casino’s have RV parks but Harrah’s a little bit more private and quiet.
Only thing is $12/day WI-FI. Big deal. Gated and guarded. Check out on Google Earth.
I seen RV’s over nighting on Wal-Mart in Memphis. $18 I’ll take the Casino.
Spent $68/day at KOA in Nashville and wasn’t even close as nice as this.

We stay at Prairie Band Casino north of Topeka KS, when we go up to babysit the grandson. Nice long level paved sites, cinder block/brick bath houses with laundry, this area was new about 3 years ago. Casino has a large hotel with pool available to campers, 3 resturants, they are in the process of building a golf course across from teh casino. Security at all hours and they provide transportation to the casino, great when it raining. Nice country area only noise is when the stock cars are racing on friday nights to the south but they stop at 11:00 pm. Free WiFi, and cable, 20/20/50 amp service and they are Camp Club USA for a good discount.
