Top Fourth of July Parks Chosen by the Good Sam RV Travel Guide and Campground Directory
When the United States Celebrates its 237th birthday on July 4, RVers will break out the fireworks, sparklers and barbecue grills at campgrounds across the Lower 48 and Alaska.
To help travelers find the RV parks that offer the best Fourth of July camping, the editors and consultants of the Good Sam RV Travel Guide and Campground Directory have compiled a list of the most patriotic RV Parks on North America. The list is tailored for RV travelers seeking campgrounds that put them a short distance from fireworks displays, patriotic music performances and other Fourth celebrations. Some campgrounds even get into the act by organizing special Fourth of July celebrations right there in the campground.
The Good Sam RV Travel Guide’s top Fourth of July RV Parks are:
Eagle’S Rest RV Park & Cabins, Valdez, Alaska
Boulder Creek RV Resort, Lone Pine, California
Escondido RV Resort – Sunland, Escondido, California
Lake George RV Park, Lake George, New York
Yogi Bear Jellystone Park/Lonestar, Waller, Texas
Celebrating America’s Birthday
For many RVers, a picnic complete with barbecued hot dogs and hamburgers is on the agenda. For others, fireworks shows and patriotic musical performances are a must. Some parks put on their own fourth celebrations, while others give RVers prime seats to Fourth of July fireworks celebrations
For example, at Escondido RV Resort in Escondido, California, the staff put on a barbecue and potluck for all the guests. The Independence Day Celebration thrown at Yogi Bear Jellystone Park in Waller, Texas, is a five-day festival that starts with a Pledge Allegiance and includes Fourth of July themed crafts and a glow stick golf park parade. At Eagle’s Rest RV Park & Cabins in Valdez, Alaska, visitors can check out the local town’s Independence Day Parade, decorated Tourist Parade and Canoe Jousting.
