Calico Ghost Town
Go back in time to the 1800’s and explore all the rich history and natural beauty of a town frozen in time. Walk down the dirt streets, shop in the old mercantile and have lunch in an old saloon, all within walking distance of your campsite. Learn about how with its 500 mines, Calico produced over $20 million in silver ore over a 12-year span. When silver lost its value in the mid-1890s, Calico lost its population. The miners packed up, loaded their mules and moved away abandoning the town. It became a “ghost town.” And now you, your family, and friends can see this amazing location firsthand and camp in the beautiful surrounding desert with amazing sunsets and star-filled night skies.
