We have returned from our week in Bristol for the Nascar Race… and what a week! Weather was perfect, except Sunday was a little cool and damp. But it did Not dampen our spirits. We couldn’t believe how fast the time went and we were on our way home already. RVing is Definitely the way to go to Nascar. You can come and go as you please, bus tours are just so limited and too confining. We stayed at Raceday Center which is right across the street from the Bristol track. They had bathroom/ shower facilities which were cleaned several times a day, plus laundry facilities which was a real plus after being there for several days. We partied with other campers near us and met so many neat people. We drove a Class C without a tow car, and still did not feel confined. There was no reason for us to need one during the week. But you want to be prepared with all the supplies you might need.

This was our First trip in our motor home, and we did not have all the necessary items for hook-ups. It is really important that when you do the initial walk around, that someone Shows you all of the necessary items, not just Tells you about them. We did not have the necessary items for the sewer hook-up and the water. Thankfully we were able to get to a local WalMart which had everything we needed. There was also an RV Vendor in the lot which was really handy.

The trip down to TN was a breeze from NY. We followed 90 west to 271 near Cleveland and took 77 down until it met with 81. Just a few more miles west and we were in Bristol. The trip could not have been easier and no chances of getting lost. We are already making plans for Bristol same time next year, and at the same place! This trip definitely goes down as one of the top vacation trips we’ve ever taken!

Headed for Bristol next week with our hybrid camper – first time. Looking for any any experienced campers at Bristol with the campgrounds owned by the track (i.e. Dragstrip Campground, etc).
