RV Tech Tips cat scratching solution.

We like to bring along our cat whenever we travel by RV. But, as cat owners know, kitties have a way of ruining the furniture without a proper outlet for their scratching urges — which makes a scratching post a necessity.

To save space — and the furniture — I wrapped a length of rope around the dinette’s table leg for our cat to scratch. It works like a charm, and it lasts for years! Now, we don’t have to lug along a bulky scratching post.

Natural twin has worked wheel for years for our cat, had to restring it once in eight years.

Thanks for both the original tip from Eve and the modification from Malcolm! I usually take along an inclined cardboard scratcher, but it does take up space and is “one more thing” that I have to load/unload each time.

This is absolutely brilliant! We have a very narrow leg on our table (it folds down so you can lower the table to make it into a bed), So I will get a small tube, a sono-tube or sewer pipe and slip it over the leg.

Thank you so much for the great idea.
