Now you’ve read some of my posts and you’d like to try out Casino Camping.  Where to start?  How do you find RV Friendly casinos?  There are several sources both online and in print.  I’ll give you examples of each.

    Print References

“Casino Camping, a Guide to RV Friendly Casinos” by Jane Kenny, a fulltime RVer and author.  Jane’s book was updated in 2007 and is the most comprehensive listing of RV Friendly casinos that I’ve found in print.  I have a copy and reference it often.  You’ll find it available in many bookstores, or online HERE.

“RVers Guide to Casino Camping” by Nick Russell, fulltime RVer and publisher of the Gypsy Journal RV Travel Newspaper and many other RV related books that you’ll find HERE.

“American Casino Guide” by Steve Bourie with several notable contributors is updated annually.  Not strictly RV focused, the ACG is said to provide detailed information on every casino/resort, riverboat and Indian casino in the U.S.   They include notes on which casinos have RV parks, whether or not they allow free overnight RV parking.  Available at most book stores.

    Online Resources

www.CasinoCamper.com (my web site) is a free resource for the RV traveler.  We continually update our database with reader input, and list RV Friendly casinos along with reviews, photos, gambling tips, and more.

OvernightRVParking Yahoo Group, owned by Jim O’Briant, provides the most complete general reference I’ve found online for free and low cost overnight RV parking including Wal-Marts, Cracker Barrels, etc. and many casinos.

Your Favorite RV Forum  If you’re looking for information on a casino help is just a few keystrokes away.  If you post a question on the Open Roads Forum at www.rv.net or other forums you’ll quickly receive all the information and opinions you want.

If all else fails send me an email, and I’ll be glad to help you find what you need.

    Happy travels, and good luck!

Bob, there are a number of website that provide partial lists of which Wal-Marts don’t allow Overnight RV Parking. Mac McClellan, who writes this Casino Camping blog, thinks that the best one is at the OvernightRVParking Yahoo Group. I agree with him, but I may be a bit biased — I run that Group. It’s located at:

A lot of RVers feel the same way and do the same thing. I figure that if they don’t want me to sleep in my RV while passing through town, then they must not want my money either.

There are hundreds more, but in some cases it’s not so simple. Some cities ban Overnght RV Parking only in the parking lots of stores whose store area is over a certain number of square feet. Others pass a “No Overnight RV Parking” law, with the intent of enforcing it only selectively, against RVers who stay more than one night, or leave trash around their RV, or otherwise cause problems. The “RV Parking and No Parking Locations” listing at the OvernightRVParking Yahoo Group gives details about each location, including whether or not local Anti-RV ordinances are rigorously enforced.

Good to see Casino sites listed. My issue are cities & towns that prohibit Wal-Mart overnight parking in spite of the Ok by Wal-Mart. I think there should be a site that lists unfriendly cities/townes.
When my wife & I find a jurisdiction that bans RVers, we blacklist that city/town and do not spend any money there. Probably not causing any severe economic threat, but we will not support a tax base, employment or profit for those areas that are RV UNfriendly. It is our small way of protest to those jurisdictions. Just will not feed the hand thats bites us!!

Galveston, TX, Yuma, AZ, Metro Minneapolis & St. Paul, MN & suburban areas all ban overnight RVers
