The summer has many options for fun adventures and interesting destinations. Why not change things up and check out an adrenaline-rushing, heart-pumping vacation to an amusement park? Here is a list of things to consider when you begin planning for such an excursion in your home on wheels this summer.

What to Pack—Pack the RV with lots of easy snacks, such as trail mix, granola bars and fresh fruits (which you can later bring with you into the amusement park). For refreshments, pack lots of water, energy drinks and sports drinks that replace electrolytes. One of the blessings about having the RV close by to the amusement park, versus a hotel room, is you don’t have to lug your favorite pillow and other necessities from your car to a room and then back again (again and again). You have everything you need, right where you want them—no packing and unpacking multiple times, necessary.

Where to Camp—Close to the Amusement Park is ideal, of course. Use Good Sam’s Plan a Trip feature to find the closest RV park to your ideal amusement park. Camping near the amusement park is convenient, considering you don’t have far to go at the end of the long day, back to the RV. Opt for an RV Park that offers a pool and jacuzzi where you can soak your sore muscles after a long day of walking around. You should also check and see if a shuttle is available to the amusement park from the RV park. Whatever you do, don’t forget to have everything set up in the RV for when you get back, because the last thing you want to do is set up camp or run to the store after walking around an amusement park all day long.

How Long to Stay—To optimize your stay and enjoy the experience of RVing while at the Amusement Parks, you ought to stay at least one night before and one night after your day at the park. If you plan to do multiple parks in one trip, it is ideal to leave a day of rest in between a day at each park, if possible. This way you can rest up and adequately enjoy the camping experience.

So buckle up and enjoy your RV trip to the amusement park(s) of your choice, where you will undoubtedly have an experience of a lifetime!
