You can also prepare for the necessary stops along the way. Look up rest stops, fuel stations and dumping facilities. Keeping a timetable? Sticking to a budget? The Quick Planner features helps assess the time, distance and cost for traveling between major cities. Use this feature to plan side trip to pet-friendly parks, beaches and more.
Never worry about the accuracy of Rand McNally maps. Free lifetime map updates can be accessed via the Rand McNally Dock™. Simply connect the device to your computer with the supplied USB cable to upload the most current mapping information.
Hitting the Highway
The Good Sam GPS takes into account the legal, physical and routing limits that pertain to trucks and RVs. In short, it won’t lead you into roads that aren’t navigable by your RV.
Getting started is easy. Select your vehicle type and enter the weight, height and length of your vehicle, indicating if propane is onboard. After selecting your destination, the GPS will plot the route, taking into account the parameters you’ve entered.
The GPS system will favor right or left-hand turns depending on vehicle size. Height and weight restrictions on bridges are also taken into account. If you’ve indicated that you’re carrying LP gas, the system won’t route you into areas where propane is prohibited.
The Good Sam GPS can be set to deliver alerts for speed limit changes, sharp curves, unpaved roads and more so you don’t find yourself in a difficult or dangerous situation. Road construction alerts are available to avoid inconvenient delays.
The system helps drivers negotiate tricky parts of any route. The three-dimensions road views with Lane Assist help drivers navigate exits and intersections.
Once you’ve reached your destination, the GPS system will also help you navigate the campground. The device’s video input allows it to serve as the monitor for the backup camera. The device also records a “breadcrumb trail” so you can easily find your way back into the campground after dark.

I bought this last summer as the RandMcnally tripmaker 7710 from Camping World. I also had to pay separately for lifetime maps. Is there any way I can get it updated with the GoodSam campgrounds. It only had Woodalls in it when I bought it. It would be nice if they would update the Good Sam info on last years model particulary since we were a good Sam-Camping World member when we bought it.

We have had ridiculous trouble just trying to turn the RVND 7725 on – let alone use it. We took a trip to central PA, and the GPS took us up a very twisty steep road (PA Rt. 913)…my transmission temp hit 225 degrees! I decided to use a good old paper atlas on the way back, and we basically had to tell the GPS how to direct us…I'm not impressed…getting ready to send it back.

GPS directed us to Cross Island Parkway Exit 31( on the LIE) to reach the Throgs Neck Bridge.RVs are not allowed on parkways in NY.You need to take the Clearview Expressway Exit 27. There is less than an eight foot clearance on most of the parkways! Scary. Liked almost everything else-

For the record, I received my first-ever reply from Rand-McNally today! We've arranged to have a telephone conversation regarding the numerous issues we encountered with this GPS. Now THAT'S a step in the right direction!

I WILL send another email – but I have to admit, I'm not holding my breath. I've emailed several times before, without success. Further, I tried posting a review with Camping World. Their policy is to discuss a negative review with Rand McNally prior to publishing. Again, your company chose not to respond. I'm afraid I have a radically different notion of customer service than your company has.
My email to you will be on its way shortly.

Sadly, this particular GPS is anything BUT safe & reliable! We bought it assuming that it would eliminate our problems on the road from BC thru to Louisiana. After it sent us to a non-existent RV park, took us down a dirt road that ended in an 8' high underpass, and sent us to a fuel stop that didn't accommodate our size, we buried it in a drawer & reverted to using our car GPS. Further, multiple calls & emails to Rand-McNally went ignored. I won't even get into the level of difficulty associated with downloading the map updates!
WAY too many problems to list with this GPS. We're sticking to our little TomTom to ensure that we ARE safe!
