I got tired of bumping my head on the corner of my fifth-wheel’s overhang while in camp. So, I installed some Armacell Self Seal Pipe Insulation intended for use on 1⁄2-inch copper or 3⁄8-inch iron pipe. The whole job took about 30 minutes and cost $10. I still may bump my head, but at least now it doesn’t hurt anything but my pride.

THIS SAME IDEA WORKS GREAT ON YOUR SLID OUTS ALSO. I EVEN GOT BRIGHT PINK ONES AND

ADDED REFLECTIVE TAPE ON THEM TO BE SEEN AT NIGHT. ALSO PUT SOME OF THE REFLECTIVE

TAPE ON THE SLIDE OUTS THEMSELVES.

Sounds good. Now what about a quick fix for slide outs?

when winter camping I use the insulation on my water hose to keep it from freezing, works great, add the heater tape and you could go pretty cold and be ok – I’ve also used it in summer to keep some maintenance person with a weed wacker from hitting and damaging the hose as well

I di this for the slideout corners and the actual hitch as well – use yellow so you see it and so do others – pool noodles work great for this.

Hi, I use pool noodles around the edges of my bump outs. It took a nasty scratch on my back for me to do it!

I do this for my front living room slides. I actually knocked myself cold before a friend showed me this trick.

The same works on the lower edge of the bedroom slide. Except I used the styrofoam water noodle.

Brilliant idea. Along the same lines I bought some bright colored foam kids ‘SWIM NOODLES’ I split them lengthwise and slide them over my slideout edges. Saves a headache.
