This traditional campground is now a new Good Sam Park! Management is proud of the helpful, friendly staff and quiet, relaxing atmosphere.
Clewiston/Lake Okeechobee Campground is a great home base to explore the best of Florida. The campground is 4 miles from Lake Okeechobee and only 3 miles from boat ramps to the lake.
Lake Okeechobee is the second-largest freshwater fishing destination in the United States. It is full of largemouth bass, bluegill, catfish, speckled perch and black crappie. Fishing guides are available in the area. At over 730 square miles, it’s a sportsman’s paradise. Waterways on either side run into the “Big O” as the lake is called, making it part of a 152-mile boating passageway through the middle of the state known as the Okeechobee Waterway.
If fishing isn’t for you, you can try hiking or biking on the 110-mile bike path around the lake. The 35-foot high dike gives an elevated view of the lake and wildlife. Or take a scenic airboat tour and glimpse the alligators and manatees. It is also a bird watcher’s delight. See pelicans, shore birds, songbirds, waterfowl and birds of prey—including the American bald eagle and osprey. With wildlife viewing, fishing, hunting, skydiving and an 18-hole golf course just minutes away, there is something for everyone.
The nearby town of Lake Okeechobee celebrates its fishing and farming legacy with an annual Speckled Perch Festival and Okeechobee Cattlemen’s Rodeo in March. Join the tournament or just enjoy the festivities.
Our park has a heated pool in the winter, free WiFi and many fun activities. Either stay in your RV or we also provide seasonal rentals. Rallies, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, tournament fishermen, traveling tourists and Snowbirds are welcome. The campground even hosts a number of wedding ceremonies.
Centrally located between the east and west coasts of Florida, Clewiston/Lake Okeechobee Campground is the place to be year around. Just a great getaway! See you soon!
