Located in West Virginia, the Monongahela National Forest is home for the outdoorsmen.

Visitors have multiple options for fun and recreation. There is rock climbing, hiking, biking, kayaking and much more.

Take a trip in your RV just to experience the fantastic views. Check out Spruce Knob, the highest point in West Virginia, at 4,683 feet.

Visit the town of Elkins, where Revelles River Resort is, and check out the local scenery. You can see the locals fiddling, making quilts, clogging, rag weaving and much more.

The height of the season is mid-July to mid-August when you can enjoy the Augusta Festival.

Try the Pegas campground near the airport in Elkins, Its got great sites and great owners, dont be scared of the drive way its looks like going into someones farm and it is, just comes out at a great camp ground with 50 amp power and full hookups. Large sites, about 20 of them. lots of grass and the sites are gravel and level. The owners are great and things going on are good. Stayed for a week last fall and had a good time. only a few min to wallmart, and its Quite the air port isn’t used much.

I’m happy to be a West Virginian and drive through Elkins all the time heading to Washington, DC via route 55. I grew up in Tucker County near Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley, so I know just how beautiful West Virginia can be.

I hope to purchase a Class A RV here in the near future and plan on traveling all across America to see all of the sites, but will start in WV and see everything it has to offer first. I figure just doing that will take a good part of a year to accomplish and cannot wait.
