    Austin Texas

After my last blog, I sincerely felt that I hadn’t done justice to Austin, TX. I was remiss in mentioning all of the local attractions. So, the only thing I could do was continue my blog.

So we’ve covered the local RV campgrounds and some events that are coming up, now I’d like to tell you all the rest of it.

The capital city of Texas is very unique. If you are touring this city, you will see a wide variety of people. College students, corporate CEOs and struggling musicians are part of the cast on Congress Avenue. This city is hip and trendy, high-tech and politically charged while being culturally rich. People who visit or live here are there to have fun.

There is so much to see. Let’s start out with the Austin Farmers Market featuring organic produce, flowers, baked goods, meats, cheeses, packaged foods and crafts, and live music.

Next we have Austin’s Park & Pizza of 22 acres filled with attractions, special event areas, game pavilion, go-karts, bumper boats, mini golf, rock climbing wall, kiddie rides, laser tag and batting cages.

Then there’s the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center where you will find a native plant botanical center with nature trails, display gardens, interpretive center and gift shop. Wildflower

One last thing to mention is the Old Bakery & Emporium which is a historic building housing a sandwich shop and handmade crafts by senior citizens.

These are just a few of the attractions you can check out while visiting Austin. There are many more. Plan on staying a while if you are interested in all of the museums, gardens and markets. There’s quite a few of them and would take you longer than a weekend visit. While there you will have to sample the eclectic cuisine.

Very unique? It’s either unique, or it isn’t.
