Welcome to Arizona

There’s much more to Arizona than the Grand Canyon. With more than 325 days of sunshine per year, Arizona opens the doors to a world of natural beauty and spectacular outdoor experiences. From taking in saguaro-framed sunsets and cruising along Route 66 to exploring ancient cliff dwellings and dining in the nation’s first UNESCO City of Gastronomy, the Grand Canyon State serves up the perfect vacation with every trip.

Did You Know?

Situated 50 miles south of Flagstaff, Montezuma Castle National Monument is a cliff dwelling once housing members of the Southern Sinagua tribe.

Urban Luxuries in Phoenix

The fifth-largest city in America, Phoenix will keep you captivated with its many world-class attractions. Browse vast collections of Native American artifacts at the Heard Museum or Pueblo Grande Museum and Archaeological Park. Find over 6,800 instruments from around the globe at the Musical Instrument Museum. Lose yourself in a sea of vibrant flora at the Desert Botanical Garden. Other top-rated attractions include the Phoenix Art Museum, Arizona Science Center and Children’s Museum of Phoenix.

Fiery Red Rocks

Arizona offers enough rugged adventures to last a lifetime. Trek through Petrified Forest National Park to see petrified wood, archaeological sites and 400 species of plants. Just outside Sedona, Red Rock State Park will impress with its flaming red rock formations and lush meadows. Ten developed trails will lead you to scenic lookouts, while guided birding tours will introduce you to the many bird species inhabiting the park.

Major Monuments

Drive north near the Utah border to take in the surreal sandstone formations of Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. Used as the backdrop for countless Western films, this iconic geological tableau of mesas and spires is a dream come true for photographers, movie buffs and nature lovers. Join a Navajo-guided tour to venture into restricted areas not open to the public. If you find yourself in Tucson, step inside Saguaro National Park to come face-to-face with the country’s tallest cacti, which can loom as high as 60 feet.

A Grand Experience

A great place to start your Arizona trip the Grand Canyon. Carved by the powerful Colorado River for eons, this natural wonder of the world will leave visitors awestruck with its dramatic gorges, rippling rock faces and towering buttes. The Grand Canyon offers a host of experiences and unique vantage points. Get easy access in the South Rim, immerse yourself in peaceful solitude in the North Rim, or get your heart pumping on the Skywalk, located 4,000 feet above the riverbed in Grand Canyon West. Expect excellent hiking opportunities no matter which area you choose.

Route 66

Road trippers can cruise along the famous Route 66. Spanning northern Arizona, this stretch of the “Mother Road” once served as the region’s main artery during the 20th century. Today, it will take you to hot spots like Petrified Forest National Park, Meteor Crater, Standin’ on the Corner Park in Winslow and the historic city of Flagstaff. Don’t miss Delgadillo’s Snow Cap Drive-In along the way to view an impressive collection of vintage cars.
