Rideau Acres History
In 1971, our family purchased 136 acres located on Colonel By Lake on the now UNESCO World Heritage site, the Rideau Canal. Still owned and operated by the same family, Rideau Acres has developed into large campground able to accommodate the smallest of tents to the largest of RVs.
With over 8000 feet of water front, Rideau Acres Campground offers a myriad of activities. You can go boating, fishing or swimming in the lake or spend the day at the pool. We have hiking trails that allow you to get back to nature along the shoreline or hike up our own piece of the Canadian Shield. We have nine holes of frisbee golf, mini putt, horseshoes, canoe and kayak rentals, children’s playground, boat launching and docking. If you prefer peace and relaxation Rideau Acres offers that too.
Rideau Acres is just 20 minutes from the 1000 Islands and the International Bridge between Canada and New York State.
