It’s easy to stay 6 feet apart from others while careening over the dunes of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area in an ATV, kayaking in the South Slough, paddleboarding on the Millacoma River or zipping along Whiskey Run, a the top-rated single track mountain biking trail. Hiking is a local favorite. One of a kind treks include ascending to the top of Golden Falls, along the rugged coastal cliffs from Sunset Bay State Park to Shore Acres State Park and Cape Arago State Park. For another unique outdoor adventure, hike through the coastal forest and wetlands of the South Slough Estuary.
Hungry? Dine on fresh fish tacos, Dungeness crab cakes, gourmet pizza, or juicy hamburgers. Many area restaurants are now open for dining in, and take out is available for an al fresco picnic on the Coos Bay Boardwalk.
