    Snowbird off-the-radar hot spots beckon…

When you think of snowbird destinations, Florida and Arizona probably come to mind. But have you visited the many underrated and and affordable RV snowbird hot spots in other states? Add these three getaways to your itinerary and you’ll find them all equally nice places to explore, eat and relax until spring arrives.

    Las Cruces, New Mexico

If you’ve never wintered in Las Cruces, New Mexico, now is the time. Park your rig at the pet-friendly Sunny Acres RV Park and enjoy stellar views of Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument. The 55-and-over park offers seasonal snowbird rates under $500 a month for spacious 40-foot-wide sites. Your stay includes onsite laundry, wireless Internet and walking distance proximity to retail stores and restaurants.

    Medina, Texas

Medina Highpoint Resort is a scenic getaway in the Texas Hill Country. With grand views of the rolling countryside and a relaxed, friendly Texan atmosphere, you’ll love the astonishingly low monthly rents priced under $400. Don’t let the price fool you though: this is a true high-end resort with amenities like an on-site restaurant, spa and swimming pool, hiking trails and weekly guest activities in the recreation room.

    Ponchatoula, Louisiana

Escape winter at Reunion Lake RV Resort when you want to explore New Orleans without the hassles of urban RVing. Amenities like an adults-only lounge and swimming pool, fitness center and full-hookup campsites built around a beautiful lake propel this snowbird resort into a perfect Good Sam 10/10*/10 rating. Monthly winter rates are $495, making it a perfect base camp for your winter adventures.

The Sun Belt states have many more underrated and affordable RV snowbird hot spots. You’ll find them all in the Good Sam Snowbird Destinations Directory.
