Sometimes the expectations of Christmas feel like a worrisome burden; of course, that misses the whole point of a holiday established around an event filled with grace, love, and forgiveness. But that’s another blog…
For now, let’s look at Christmas gift ideas for RVing, and in general:
Categories: Costs an arm and a leg and Doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
Costs an Arm and a Leg:
#1 Ipad: they’re shockingly cool to have in your RV (or anywhere) and can do everything short of conceive children for you. Soon, I bet they’ll have an App for that. The iPad includes its own e reader; I love reading in bed with the back light (that my Nook doesn’t have).
#2 Nook, Kindle or some other great e-reader. I love my black and white Nook http://bit.ly/up6ob8 and the zillions of books and magazines it holds. It is so skinny and light weight, thus great for my little girl sized hands! My sweetheart gave me the Nook before he gave me an iPad2, but I must say, I use both of them constantly, both when RVing and Stick Housing. Wow…I invented a word. Folks seem to love their Kindles, as well. kindle.amazon.com
#3 Pressure Pro Tire Monitoring System . I know a guy who has one and he swears by it.

Doesn’t Cost an Arm and a Leg:
#1 Gift Cards. Weight is an issue for RVs, and these little cards weigh, what, one ounce? You can get them for restaurants, box stores, Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, etc. People always like picking out their own stuff or having a paid for meal.
#2 Flashlights: Get those little LED ones. You just can’t have too many of those suckers around. That’s a known fact.
#3 Collapsible Buckets: I love these things. I can’t believe how flat they smash, but voila! Then they pop open and hold a ton of stuff. They have them at most RV stores in lots of sizes. www.rvsupplywarehouse.com/product/detail.cfm/pid/4045
#4 Bear Spray: Now don’t go thinking I’m wacko, but this is not a bad idea. Many people don’t want to carry weapons in their RVs or homes; however, if a bad guy tries to break in you’ll for sure ruin his day, and buy yourself time, if you blast him in the face with this stuff. Grizzlies don’t like it. Bad guys won’t either. counterassault.com/
The holidays are fast upon us; I love that expression. Why don’t you get gift giving out of the way early? Doing so will free your time, energy, and spirit to reflect on what matters most; the advent of the Christ Child’s birth.
Happy Tales to you and yours,
Patti
