Places to Visit
Lake Mineral Wells State Park & Trailway sits in the heart of cattle country, near what was once a popular health resort. You will love the area’s history and scenery, but you’ll also enjoy the park’s outdoor amenities including a rock-climbing area, and miles of trails. You can camp, hike, bike, geocache, or just relax by the lake. Don’t forget boating, fishing, and swimming.
Chandor Gardens captures both the ornate design of ancient Chinese architecture and the elegance of a formal English garden. The 3.5-acre estate leads its visitors on a meandering path of beauty and wonderment. From the 30-foot man-made waterfall to the various soothing fountains, the gardens have something new and exciting to offer at every turn.
Fort Worth Stockyards: Nothing embodies western heritage better than the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. From the original brick walkways to the wooden corrals, every inch of the Stockyards tells the true history of Texas’s famous livestock industry. The Fort Worth Herd is the world’s only twice-daily cattle drive, held every day at 11:30 AM & 4:00 PM in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
Year-round rodeo held every Friday and Saturday night. From concerts to rodeos to other crowd-pleasing shows, there’s plenty of live entertainment.
