Sue Bray

Sue BraySusan Bray is Executive Director of the Good Sam Club, and Vice President, Member Experience, for Affinity Group, Inc., the Club’s parent company.  The Good Sam Club consists of families who own recreational vehicles, and is based in Ventura, California.

Bray is a graduate of Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and began her career working for Members of Congress in both their home state offices and in Washington, D.C.  In 1976, she became Director of Chapter Activities for the Good Sam Club.  In 1979, she was promoted to Executive Director, and remains in this capacity, with responsibilities including membership benefits development, the Club’s magazine, Highways, the Club’s website, legislative efforts, Club events, and Club activities, including it’s 2000 local chapters.  During Bray’s period as Executive Director, the Good Sam Club has grown from less than 200,000 members to more than one million families.

Sue was appointed by the Secretary of Interior to represent recreational users on the Bureau of Land Management’s Public National Advisory Council from 1991 to 1994, and has testified before Congressional Committees, State legislative bodies and local city councils.  She received the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association’s Legislative Award in 1990.  She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives, on the Board of Directors of the American Recreation Coalition, and serves on the National Advisory Board of Dogs for the Deaf.
