Starting Point

This village is a seafood lover’s delight. Check out Seafood Sam’s, a serve-yourself clam shack right on the canal with the best fried seafood around featuring fried shrimp, clams, scallops, haddock and huge red lobsters served eight different ways. Drop anchor at Captain Scott’s Seafood Restaurant for fantastic food like pan-fried smelts, heavenly lobster bisque and a seafood pot pie that equates to comfort food.

2. Brewster

31.4 miles, 35 minutes

The Brewster Fish House has been called the best restaurant on the Cape and rated in the top 50 by Zagat. With artful entrees served fresh in a contemporary manner, this is a place that rivals the best that even Boston has to offer. The menu will entice with peekytoe crab cakes, sea scallops, caviar, slate grilled tuna, seared Scottish Atlantic salmon and lemon sole.


3. Wellfleet

17 miles, 28 minutes

This National Seashore town is famous for oysters, but take time to slurp up other regional seafood too. Mac’s Shack serves up an abundance of good food and fun including fish tacos and an outstanding raw bar. Make plans to have a whale of a good time at Moby Dick’s restaurant where the grilled seafood melts in your mouth and the classic fried platters are pure Cape Cod.

4. Truro

5.5 miles, 8 minutes

This crown jewel of the Cape Cod National Seashore has so many great dining places that it presents a dining dilemma. Hands down, the best fish and chips in town is at Murphy’s Fish and Chips Eatery, where fresh flaky fish are fried to crispy perfection. Blackfish Restaurant is a hidden gem, with seafood always on the menu. Try the fresh tuna Bolognese, panko-crusted sole and an order of Massachusetts fried oysters.


5. Provincetown

10.8 miles, 17 minutes

From down-home cooking to haute cuisine, Provincetown delivers on dining pleasure. Local 186 is all about the beef with almost a dozen burgers to choose from, or build your own from locally sourced beef, lamb or turkey with house-made condiments, bringing out the flavors.
