Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area

Not only is Southeast Montana home to Bighorn Canyon National Recreation area, with 1,000-foot cliffs rising above a 60-mile long lake, we are also home to some unique state parks, such as Makoshika and Medicine Rocks. Both parks offer unique landscapes and hiking opportunities found in few other places—even in Montana. If you are looking for museums, art galleries, breweries and even a local winery, we have that, too. And to top off your day, there are plenty of small towns with cafés filled with locals to give you ideas on more adventures. Make Southeast Montana part of your Montana vacation.
