1. Niagara Falls

Spanning 3,409 feet from bank to bank, Niagara Falls stands 167 feet high and boasts one of the highest flow rates of any waterfall on the planet. Horseshoe Falls, American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls combine for a giant spectacle that should be high on everybody’s bucket list. Straddling New York and Ontario, Niagara Falls is part of both the United States and Canada, but visitors come from all over the world to marvel in its jaw-dropping beauty.

2. Hamilton

Drive 54.1 miles, 53 minutes • Entertainment, History, Nature, Outdoor Recreation

Encompassing conservation areas and waterfalls, this region has much to offer lovers of the outdoors. Be sure to check out the famous Bruce Trail that runs along the Niagara Escarpment. But there’s more than nature here. Historic sites include the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, home to warbirds from World War II to the present. Open to the public, the Dundurn Castle is a picturesque villa built by magnate Sir Allan Napier MacNab, a major Canadian leader.

3. Toronto

Considered the most culturally diverse city on the planet, Toronto is like a microcosm of the world. There are 140 languages spoken in the massive city along with diverse neighborhoods and delicious traditional foods from all over the world. Though city life is abuzz with markets and streets, the provincial capital of Ontario is also home to some gorgeous parks, including Queen’s Park and High Park. Take an elevator ride up the CN Tower for sweeping views.
